The following article is intended for you if:

  1. The person wearing the Silvertree Reach does not have a smartphone and you plan to set it up for them AND

  2. The person wearing the Silvertree Reach has not yet created an account nor joined a Care Team.

❗️ Before proceeding❗️

Please ensure that the Reach wearer has NOT yet created their account before following the below steps. During setup, you will have the opportunity to send an invite to the Reach wearer to create their own account.

If the Reach wearer has already created an account, please log into their account in the Silvertree app and then following the steps detailed in Pairing Your Reach to your Silvertree App | Articles | Silvertree | Intercom

Create your Silvertree profile

Before pairing the Reach, you must first create your account.

  1. Download the Silvertree app and begin to set up your account.

  2. Enter your email address. Be sure it's an email address you have access to as a verification code will be sent to your phone.

  3. Tap 'Send Code Now' and accept the privacy pop-up checkmark

  4. Open your email from Silvertree to retrieve the 6-digit verification code

  5. Go back to the Silvertree app and enter the 6-digit verification code from the email. Tap 'Enter'

  6. You will receive a text message with a 6-digit number. Enter this 6-digit number in the Silvertree app to continue setting up your account.

  7. Enter your profile information and then enable the Setup Permissions to finish creating your profile. This is required to ensure access to all of the Silvertree Reach features.

Building their Care Team

Now that your profile is created, quickly learn about how to start and stop a SOS and the role of the Care Team during an emergency. You'll have the opportunity to create the Care Team by inviting your Reach wearer and any other loved ones, at this point in tutorials.

  1. On the Build Your Care Team screen, select 'next'

  2. Enter the email address of the Reach wearer, as well as anyone else that you would like to add to the Reach wearer's Care Team.

Note: You can add as many Care Partners as you wish! When ready, select 'send invite'.

  3. On the next screen, select who on the team will be wearing the Silvertree Reach and then click 'assign'.

Note: It is very important that you assign the Silvertree Reach device to the appropriate Reach wearer at this step. If you need to change it at a later time, please contact Silvertree Customer Support at [email protected]

After building your Care Team, finish learning about the emergency escalation process and how the 24/7 Emergency Service gets involved when a Care Team is unable to respond to the SOS.

Note: As the Care Team creator, you are the default Primary Care Partner. This means that the 24/7 Safety Agent will attempt to get in touch with you, as well as the Reach wearer, when there is an emergency. We strongly recommend saving the phone number of the 24/7 Emergency Call Center, so that you can identify their call in an emergency.

Setting up their Silvertree Reach

  1. You will now be asked if the Reach wearer will be setting up the Silvertree Reach with their own phone.

  2. Select 'no, I will set it up with my phone'.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup of the Silvertree Reach.

If you have not already done so, please ensure that you have opened the Silvertree box, removed the charging dock, charging cable, and Silvertree Reach. Connect the charging cable to the charging dock and plug it in.

Note: It is important that you pair the Reach to the WiFi network that your loved one is most often connected to (e.g. their home). Connecting the Reach to a WiFi network can only be done via your Reach wearer's profile, so be sure to complete this step before finishing setup.

If the Reach wearer’s WiFi password or network changes at a later time, you will need to be near your Reach Wearer and logged into their account on the Silvertree app in order to update the WiFi credentials.

Once you have completed setup of the Reach, you will be brought to the home dashboard in the Silvertree app. There, you will see your loved one's location, the battery level of their Reach, and the feature settings (ON or OFF) of fall detection and 24/7 Emergency Services. You will also have the ability to send a quick Virtual Hug to your loved one!
