Most consumer electronics today, such as tablets, smartphones, and audio devices, contain components that emit electromagnetic fields that might interfere with medical devices. For example, implanted pacemakers and defibrillators might contain sensors that respond to magnets and radios when in close contact.

Like so many other consumer electronics, the Silvertree Reach contains magnetic material. Because of this, we always recommend that you consult a physician before using the Silvertree device. There are other steps that you can take, as well, if you are concerned about whether the Silvertree Reach might interfere with your medical device:

  • Maintain a safe distance: Most medical device manufacturers recommend keeping your consumer electronic device a safe distance from your medical device (at least 6" apart or 12" apart when using a wireless charger).

  • Check manufacturer guidelines: Most medical device manufacturers provide recommendations for safe use around consumer electronic devices, to prevent possible interference. Check your medical device's guidelines for these recommendations.
